Flight from New York to Iceland takes 5 Hrs. 3 to 4 hours to fly from Western Europe.
Population however is only 335,000. Iceland represents the lowest population in Europe. The nation’s capital is Reykjavík. 2/3 of the population live in the Reykjavík. The rural areas are sparsely settled. Other than Reykjavik the most populous town is Akureyri. It has only 18,000 residents. The rest of the population also lives near the coast. The middle of the country has lower temperatures.
